Gabion Stone walls

Gabion stone is becoming very popular with homeowners and DIY’ers! This is a great ,cheap way of building a retaining wall, that requires very little skill.

The stone itself sizes up around 100 – 200 mm which in most suppliers’ book is classed as a 6G. One major advantage with gabion stone walls is that they allow water to pass easily through it. Water can be one of the biggest causes of slippage in garden products.

There are a few different types of gabion stone that you can buy. The most common on the UK is Limestone this is also the cheapest. The next most popular is Granite, although this is almost twice as expensive as Limestone.

So if you are considering building a stone garden wall this summer, take a look at the gabion wall
